Lee’s Summit Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System—Kansas City’s largest healthcare network, has appointed Heath King as chief financial officer of Lee’s Summit Medical Center. He will also serve as the hospital’s ethics and compliance officer.
Since 2008, King has served as the hospital controller of Redmond Regional Medical Center, a 230-bed HCA hospital in Rome, Ga. King has been with HCA since 2002 and was selected to be in HCA’s CFO Executive Development Program.
“Heath has a strong background and solid knowledge of hospital accounting and financial management,” says Jackie DeSouza, chief executive officer of Lee’s Summit Medical Center. “With his extensive HCA experience and proven leadership, he is a perfect fit to the Lee’s Summit Medical Center family.”
King earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Shorter College in Rome. “Heath’s accomplishments at Redmond Regional Medical Center are a great benefit to Lee’s Summit Medical Center, and he is already contributing to the hospital’s growth and cost management strategies,” says Mel Lagarde, president of HCA Midwest Health System.
