Nurse Elected To Lead Bi-state Professional Organization
February 20, 2012
Joan Jenne, RN, BSN, CIC, infection preventionist and Lee’s Summit Medical Center infection prevention coordinator, was elected President of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), Greater Kansas City Chapter for 2012. Jenne recently took office when Lee’s Summit Medical Center hosted the bi-state professional organization at their first 2012 meeting.
With nearly 40 years of nursing experience, including more than 20 years leading hospital infection prevention programs, Jenne plans to serve the APIC GKC Chapter by collaborating with her peers. “It’s a privilege to serve in leadership to help all hospitals direct their infection prevention programs to best practices,” Jenne says.
She previously served as president of APIC in the St. Louis area and has been with Lee’s Summit Medical Center since 2008.
Kansas and Missouri hospitals in the Kansas City region and the Missouri and Kansas state health departments are members of the APIC, Greater Kansas City Chapter professional organization.
