Donna Arbuckle

Lee’s Summit resident Donna Arbuckle and her husband, Gary, routinely walk their chocolate cocker spaniel, Maisy, past Lee’s Summit Medical Center. The acute-care hospital is a short two-block jaunt from their home, and Arbuckle likes the fact that top-notch medical resources are readily accessible in her neighborhood. Jessica Headlee

On April 7, 2015, around 9pm, 36-year-old Jessica Headlee felt unexpectedly fatigued. By 10pm, she started having left-sided chest pain, nausea, and sweating. Jessica’s significant other called 911. EMS arrived moments later to find that Jessica’s heart had gone into a fatal arrhythmia. EMS initiated CPR and shocked her back into rhythm. After Jessica regained a pulse, the EKG indicated that this otherwise healthy young woman was having a heart attack. » Read more

Lawrence Bolton

Lawrence Bolton is the epitome of a genuine family man. His wife of 60 years, JoAnn, is his rock; his three sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren are his pride and joy. He enjoys building model airplanes, mosaic woodworking, celebrating birthdays and holidays, and spending what the 82-year-old Grandview resident calls “good old-fashioned quality time” with his family. So when Lawrence learned he had Stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in February 2010 after a visit to the doctor for stomach pains, the retired airline engine overhaul supervisor’s immediate thoughts turned to his family. » Read more

Savannah Bush

On August 13th, 2015, Savannah, her 7-year-old daughter Baylee, and 6-week-old son Bodee were traveling down 50 Highway westbound on their way to Hobby Lobby in Lee’s Summit. Savannah reports that an SUV pulled out in front of her crossing over from 50 Highway eastbound to turn onto Milton Thompson road. The SUV did not yield and even though Savannah slammed on her brakes, she was unable to stop in time and she and her children t-boned the SUV at 60 mph. » Read more
