  • June 12, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
  • Class (6/12, 6/19 and 6/26) includes: A small group setting where participants learn blood glucose monitoring and diabetes prevention; Meal planning, food preparation and weight loss education; Information about starting insulin therapy, and treatment of high and low blood sugars; Individual counseling and in-depth information when you need it; With your permission, share information with your doctor; Referral to a family physician or endocrinologist, if needed; Interaction with people facing similar challenges.   • Through the Heart Walk, we create opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke. Walkers can organize teams at the companies where they work or with family and friends or ask others to support their walk effort by sponsoring them with a donation to the American Heart Association.   • Night Flight 5K Run
  • June 8, 2012 from 9:00PM to 11:00PM
  • Put away your sunglasses and run under the moon and stars in the 31st Annual Night Flight 5K Run, co-sponsored by the Lee's Summit Medical Center and Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Department. The silver moon and luminaries will guide you on your journey along our 3.1 mile course. Entry fees include a T-shirt and Glow bracelet for runners who register by June 7.
