Valaree R. Smith, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician who is fellowship trained in geriatric medicine. Combining a high level of clinical skill with a warm and understanding patient manner, Dr. Smith serves the elderly of Lee's Summit and surrounding areas. She provides medical care to senior adults in extended and long-term care facilities and also cares for those patients at Lee's Summit Medical Center when needed. She is available for Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) consults for inpatients at Lee's Summit Medical Center, as well as for providing medical coverage and medical director services for long term-care facilities in the area. Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Geriatrics Society. She received her medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine & BioSciences and completed her residency at the Research Family Medicine Residency Program.
